The following is an excerpt from our pastor's response to the death of George Floyd and the scourge of racism that persists in our country. I designed this post to highlight a simple prayer parishioners can say while they contemplate the current situation.
On June 1, the Archbishop of Dubuque wrote a message commemorating a National Day of Mourning and Lament for those we have lost to COVID-19 and the evils of racism. I designed this graphic to mark the occasion with our parishioners.
This is the most recent quarterly newsletter for St. Joseph the Worker as of this writing. The design for the newsletter emphasizes readability and alignment with SJTW branding found in other print media and the website. The feast day of the parish's patron saint is May 1. Normally, there's a celebration following the weekend Masses closest to the day. Since we still can't have Mass this year, we recorded a virtual prayer service for our YouTube channel. I edited the video. https://youtu.be/VFVy8jOE2bo
As the pandemic continues, SJTW parish continues to look for new ways to connect with parishioners. We created a Facebook group for parishioners to stay in contact with each other and the parish. I designed this graphic to accompany the announcement of the group's creation.
We had originally intended to rent a billboard advertising our Easter Mass times. With the pandemic going on, that was no longer in the cards. Instead, I designed this billboard to try and spread a hopeful message in these trying times.
SJTW does preaching series where the parish spends a few weeks doing a deep dive into a certain topic and the sermons all follow a theme chosen by a team. The theme for Easter 2020 is “Now What?” I designed this image and logo for the series. This image will be shared online and on the screens in the church and serves as the identity for the theme to help parishioners connect the messages together. I also wrote the below paragraph to introduce the theme to parishioners and visitors. “Now What?”We ask ourselves that a lot, especially now with COVID-19. “What am I supposed to do?
